The Bank of Spain closed the 2024 financial year with zero profit after offsetting operational losses of 7.549 million euros with provisions for financial risks, as stated in its Annual Accounts published today. These temporary operational losses occurred, like last year, due to the change in monetary policy starting in 2022 to combat inflation. The provision and distribution policy in previous years allowed the Bank of Spain to have sufficient financial buffers in both 2024 and 2023, when provisions for financial risks offset losses of 6.612 million.
